Azimuth Christian Ministries’ Core Tenets
This is a subtitle for your new post

1. Azimuth Mission Statement.
Azimuth leads the way in constructing a ground-up, lifelong framework that will enable and inspire men to advance purposefully toward development as heroic leaders in their families, their churches, the workplace, and American society.
2. Azimuth Promise Statement.
Azimuth promises to build male leaders by instilling confidence, direction, purpose, inspiration, and vision.
3. Azimuth Institutional Character.
Azimuth is Christian in its worldview. Azimuth seeks to speak and teach Christian mores using biblical guidelines to build good lives for its men and their families without the stigma, pressure, or abstract boundaries of a denominational construct.
4. Azimuth Value Proposition Statement.
Azimuth understands that, while some men are born leaders, most are built from the ground up. Since the 1980’s, American manhood has been denigrated and discouraged and many men are now disengaged. Masculinity has been forced underground and traditional societal male development has flagged due to a drought of effective role models and mentors. This means men must be retaught such topics as meaningful conflict and heroic risk in preparation for upcoming leadership roles as nascent opportunities emerge. Azimuth’s program has been written specifically for developing male leadership in the modern world.
5. Azimuth Vehicles for Reaching Men.
Azimuth intends to teach biblical truths without denominational baggage. This is termed “Grass-Fed Learning.” The goal of Grass-Fed Learning is depth of knowledge, strength of character, and stolid nature (calm, dependable, unemotional) of an Azimuth Man.
“Azimuth Man” describes the desired end-state of an organically strong Christian leader who has been properly nourished on the word of God and nurtured by expert Christian male mentorship and leadership. An Azimuth Man is knowledgeable, characterful, and stolid (calm, dependable, unemotional); he keeps his head about him and the earth beneath his feet.
An Azimuth man is therefore powerful. He is power under control. His goal is peace through ordered action. He is, therefore, dangerous and a threat to chaos. So, he must be strong.
Azimuth seeks to provide the world with these men. Where do we get them? From men produced by the industrial, nutrient-poor feedyards of organized religion, as well as those influenced by the amoral and immoral nature of current American society. Azimuth recycles men.
6. Azimuth intends to do this via the following vehicles.
a. Weekly online teaching engagements.
Monday: “Common-Sense Christianity”.
Common-Sense Christianity is teaching biblical truth without the confusion of ecumenical councils, doctrine, dogma, sectarianism, and traditions of the denominational church world. Azimuth seeks to teach men who have been engaged with or by organized Christianity as well as those who have never done so. Azimuth seeks to teach a Christian values system without the trappings of any denomination. This will be achieved by looking at the Bible through eyes free of denominational lenses and engaging with the word without stigma. This is “Grass-Fed Learning”.
Tuesday: Word study/maps/history.
Biblical study is hampered by the distance between the 1st Century Jewish/Christian Levantine worldview and the 21st Century American worldview. Many meaningful words and names are simply read over and never studied. Many meaningful places are mentioned of which the typical American has never heard nor could ever pinpoint on a map. Many meaningful eras have already passed by the time the biblical story appears on the pages of the Bible which mean nothing to Americans but which were exceptionally meaningful to the Jewish writers and 1st Century hearers of the word; additionally, many meaningful eras followed these. Such words/maps/history must be explored and explained.
Wednesday: “Beach Sessions”.
Beach Sessions are inspirational/motivational video/audio messages recorded on the beach on the island of Okinawa, Japan and placed online for viewers to enjoy and from which to gain insight, encouragement, and development.
Thursday: “Deep Theology.”
Deep Theology is when Azimuth explores biblical or theological subject matter that is never taught from the pulpit nor, usually, even in an adult classroom.
Friday: “Call-To-Action”.
Call-To-Action is marching orders; topics given to the men that will cause them to reflectively act upon what they’ve learned during the week. These will be presented in a sequential manner in order to build the character and abilities of an Azimuth Man.
b. Men’s Advance.
Men’s Advance is a program designed to encourage and develop Christian men to behave heroically by willingly engaging in meaningful conflict. A man should never be conflict averse because it is only through conflict that heroes are formed. A hero, in turn, recognizes his obligation to teach and inspire others. Why is this important? Because at some point, every man must advance into dangerous territory to engage in conflict. That conflict must be real. There can be no growth without it and, ultimately, no heroism. Nothing worthwhile is accomplished at ease.
“No victory without conflict; no heroism without risk.”
c. Meaningful and engaging study topics.
Bible study should not be boring! Bible study is a fascinating and fun activity when done well. Doing it well means the preparation effort must be wide and deep, presentation/instruction must be engaging, enjoyable, and interactive, and material must be new. No one wants to be stuck sitting through another dull class. This is one reason why many modern people don’t value church. On the other hand, when the church provides value, people begin to consider church valuable. It’s a two-way street. Believe me, there are plenty of treasures to be unearthed in the pages of every book that will promote value.
d. Travel to Azimuth Events/Rallies.
Azimuth seeks to motivate as many men as possible. One way to do this is by gathering at events and rallies. These will be developed as needed and planned/announced via internet assets.
e. Online Group Mentor Sessions.
Online group mentor sessions are paid group visits to speak with James Willeford via online resources such as Zoom, etc.
f. School Circles.
School Circles are 3-5 minute motivational videos in which James Willeford speaks about meaningful subjects directed at men’s development, leadership, and betterment.
g. Bible Study/Class Materials.
Bible studies are in-depth, verse-by-verse incursions into the books of the Bible, supplemented by class materials produced and owned by Azimuth Christian Ministries.
h. Speaking Engagements.
Speaking engagements are paid visits for James Willeford to travel to locations to speak to people.
i. Personal mentorship sessions.
Personal mentorship sessions are paid private visits with James Willeford to discuss whatever is on a man’s mind or heart.
